The contoured mesh back task chair features an integrated variable lumbar support as standard. For added seating comfort, Ousby features a synchronised mechanism geometry that links the motion of the seat and the 23-degree backrest recline with a ratio of 2.3:1. This ratio has been developed to encourage users to maintain the chair's open, floating action, which can have positive benefits for back health.

The mechanism utilises a multi-position back lock with five preset lockable positions, including an upright position. It is fitted with an 'anti-kick' brake system or can be left free-floating, which is selected using the left-hand control stalk. The mechanism also incorporates adjustments for seat height and body weight using a rotational control on the right-hand control stalk with seven preset positions. Seat depth adjustment is integrated as standard. All the ergonomic adjustments can be made by the easily accessible controls from the seated position.
