Flip Top Tables for Rooms That Change Every Day
Most meeting and training rooms are used in three or four layouts a week. Fixed tables lock a room into one of them. Flip top tables remove that limit: tops tilt to vertical, frames roll on lockable castors, and tables nest one behind another against a wall.
That makes them the standard choice for training suites, conference centres, universities, hotels and any office where one large room has to cover all-hands, workshops and client events. A room set boardroom-style in the morning can be cleared for a town hall in the afternoon without anyone lifting a table.

Flip Top, Tilt Top or Folding: What's the Difference?
The terms are used interchangeably, but the mechanisms differ, and the difference matters for storage and handling.
- Flip top tables (also written fliptop): the top pivots to vertical on a fixed frame. The frame usually has castors, so the folded table rolls and nests. This is the most common format for meeting and training rooms.
- Tilt top tables: another name for the same mechanism, often used for tilting frame designs such as the Visual Tilt Top Table. The top locks in both the flat and vertical positions.
- Folding tables: the legs fold under the top, so the table packs flatter but has to be carried or put on a trolley. Fold tables suit event spaces and rooms with limited storage depth.
- Training tables: flip top or fixed-frame tables in classroom sizes, often with modesty panels, cable trays and linking devices, such as the Actiu Talent 300 and Talent 500.
If one person needs to reset the room alone, choose a flip top on castors. If storage depth is the limiting factor, a fold-leg table nests flatter.

How to Choose the Right Flip Top Meeting Table
Five things decide whether a flip top table works in your space.
Size. The market standard is 800mm deep in 1200, 1400 and 1600mm widths, with larger formats up to 2400mm for conference use. Allow around 700mm of table edge per person for meetings and 800mm per person for training with laptops.
Shape. Rectangular tables give the most layouts. Semi-circular or trapezoidal tops let you build round, oval or U-shaped configurations from the same set.
Mobility. Look for braked castors on every leg, so tables stay put in use and roll freely when folded. Check the release mechanism can be worked with one hand.
Linking. Linking devices hold tables in a straight line and keep tops level, which matters for boardroom and seminar layouts. Some designs, such as the Casala Temo, link without tools.
Power and cable management. For training rooms, a cable tray or tray-mounted power module stops trailing leads. Ask us about desktop and under-desk power options that fold with the top.

Large Flip Top Conference Tables
Not every flip top table is a training table. Larger formats, such as the 2400mm Nimbus XL Flip Top Table and the William Hands Transcend Classic, give a solid, boardroom-grade surface that still folds away. They suit companies whose main meeting room doubles as an event or all-hands space.
