Fabric Care Instructions

Felt and upholstery should be cleaned with a cloth dampened with water and, if necessary, using mild cleaning agents. Dilute the cleaning agent with water according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and apply it to the soiled areas with a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use agents containing alcohol, acetone, bleach or other solvents. In case of heavy contamination, use mild soap or a special upholstery cleaning agent. Avoid scratching, pressing, or rubbing the cleaned surface to prevent damage to its structure.

Metal Components

Wipe exterior walls and other metal components with a cloth dampened with a mild all-purpose cleaning agent. Do not use agents containing alcohol, acetone or other solvents. After cleaning, wipe all surfaces dry.

Glass

Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the glass. Remove heavier contamination with liquid without ammonia.

System Furniture

Use a soft, dampened cloth for system furniture care. If soiling is heavy, soak the cloth in liquid or a mild furniture cleaning agent. Any whiteboard should be cleaned regularly with a special dry-erase cleaner, at least once a week or more often, depending on how often it is used.

Lighting
Hanging lamps and LED lighting should be wiped with a dry cloth, taking special care to avoid accidental damage or scratching.

Built for two people on camera

Most acoustic pods are designed for one person taking a call. The C42 is designed for two people appearing on the same call — a very different problem. A shared interior gives both users enough width to sit side by side without crowding the frame, while the depth-adjustable desk lets you set the camera distance so that two faces fit the shot naturally rather than one leaning in over the other.

That makes it the right pod for paired working: a manager and a report in a one-to-one, a salesperson and a technical specialist on a client demo, two interviewers running a remote hiring panel, or a trainer and a trainee sharing a screen.

Lighting engineered for video, not just for reading

Overhead office lighting is the single most common reason people look tired on camera: it drops shadows under the eyes and leaves the face underlit. The C42 uses broadcast-level lighting that combines ambient light for the interior with dedicated face lighting aimed at the seated position, so both users are lit evenly and consistently regardless of the time of day or what the office lighting is doing outside the pod.

Ventilation and air quality

Two people in a sealed acoustic enclosure generate heat and CO₂ quickly, and rising CO₂ is what makes a pod feel stuffy and users feel foggy in the back half of a long meeting. The Calma For 2 uses a twin-fan ventilation system to keep air moving through the pod continuously, sized for two occupants rather than one — the reason a two-person pod needs a different ventilation specification from a phone booth of the same height.

Power and running cost

Total power consumption is 45W in normal use — lighting and ventilation combined, less than most laptops draw at the wall. On a typical office pattern of eight hours a day, five days a week, that works out to roughly 90 kWh a year. Running cost is therefore in the region of £20–£30 a year at current UK commercial electricity rates.

Dimensions and site requirements

The pod measures 1440mm wide x 1400mm deep x 2310mm high, giving a floor footprint of just over 2m². Before ordering, check three things: that your ceiling height clears 2310mm with service margin above, that the delivery route (doors, lifts, corridors) can take the largest panel, and that there is a socket within reach of the intended position.

Because the pod is freestanding furniture rather than a built structure, it does not require planning permission and does not normally trigger a landlord’s alterations clause — one of the main reasons pods have displaced stud-wall meeting rooms in leased offices.

The Media Wall and depth-adjustable desk

The optional Media Wall is the feature that separates the Calma For 2 from a conventional two-person meeting pod. It provides a finished, screen-ready back wall — the surface behind you on camera — so remote participants see a considered backdrop rather than a corridor. Paired with the depth-adjustable desk, it lets you set framing properly: pull the desk forward for a tighter two-shot, push it back when you need document space or a shared laptop between you.

Class A acoustics, certified to ISO 23351-1

Acoustic performance in office pods is measured under ISO 23351-1, which tests how much a pod reduces the level of speech escaping into the surrounding space. Class A — the highest band in the standard — requires a speech level reduction of at least 30 dB. In practical terms, a normal conversation inside a Class A pod is reduced to an indistinct murmur a couple of metres away, which is why Class A is the specification to insist on for HR conversations, board discussions, legal calls and anything covered by client confidentiality.

The same construction works in the other direction. Open-plan noise, keyboard clatter and passing conversation stay outside, so the microphone picks up voices rather than the office.

How the Calma For 2 compares

If one person needs to take calls without disturbing the floor, a single-occupancy phone booth is the more economical choice. If you need to seat four to six for team meetings, look at the larger meeting pods.
