Fabric Care Instructions

Felt and upholstery should be cleaned with a cloth dampened with water and, if necessary, using mild cleaning agents. Dilute the cleaning agent with water according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and apply it to the soiled areas with a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use agents containing alcohol, acetone, bleach or other solvents. In case of heavy contamination, use mild soap or a special upholstery cleaning agent. Avoid scratching, pressing, or rubbing the cleaned surface to prevent damage to its structure.

Metal Components

Wipe exterior walls and other metal components with a cloth dampened with a mild all-purpose cleaning agent. Do not use agents containing alcohol, acetone or other solvents. After cleaning, wipe all surfaces dry.

Glass

Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the glass. Remove heavier contamination with liquid without ammonia.

System Furniture

Use a soft, dampened cloth for system furniture care. If soiling is heavy, soak the cloth in liquid or a mild furniture cleaning agent. Any whiteboard should be cleaned regularly with a special dry-erase cleaner, at least once a week or more often, depending on how often it is used.

Lighting
Hanging lamps and LED lighting should be wiped with a dry cloth, taking special care to avoid accidental damage or scratching.

What the Orangebox Diggs is

The Diggs is a semi-enclosed single-person booth designed by Orangebox for concentrated individual work. It sits in a specific gap in the workplace furniture range: more enclosed and more acoustically useful than a desk screen, but without the footprint, ventilation requirements or capital cost of a fully sealed office phone booth.

Structurally, it belongs to the Orangebox Beyond the Desk family and shares its high-back surround screens. Those screens are the working part of the product — they interrupt sightlines across an open floor and absorb a portion of the mid-frequency noise that makes open-plan offices tiring to work in. The user sits inside a soft, upholstered recess rather than at an exposed desk.

Finishes and specification options

Painted legs come with colour-coordinated glides in five standard RAL colours: Black RAL9005, Claret Red RAL3005, Olive Green RAL6003, Midnight Blue RAL5008 and Traffic Grey RAL7042.

Upholstery runs across the Orangebox fabric range, with leather available in tan or black. If you’re matching Diggs to an existing scheme, send us the fabric reference and we’ll confirm availability and any upcharge before you commit.

The pivoting worksurface

The defining feature is the rotating tablet: 18mm solid oak with a soft tapered edge, mounted on a pivot so it swings clear for entry and then rotates into a comfortable working position. It’s available in natural oak or stained black.

An optional support shelf adds a second, higher working level in matching solid oak. It’s deep enough to hold a laptop or tablet at eye height for video calls, which means the lower tablet stays free for a notebook or a second device. For anyone who takes a lot of Teams calls and writes while doing it, the two-level arrangement is the reason to specify the shelf.

Where Diggs works, and where it doesn’t

Diggs is the right product when you need to add focus space to an open floor without building anything. It’s freestanding, needs no power to function, no ventilation, no fire strategy amendment, and no landlord conversation. Ten of them can be positioned in an afternoon. That makes it a strong fit for floors on short leases, for retrofit into an existing fit-out, and for organisations that want to test where their staff actually go for quiet before committing to sealed pods.

It is not the right product for confidential conversations. It’s semi-enclosed and open at the front. If you need speech privacy — HR meetings, clinical discussion, legal work — you need a sealed booth. A practical pattern that works well: a small number of sealed booths for calls that need privacy, and a larger number of Diggs-type booths for heads-down work. It’s usually cheaper and better used than buying sealed pods for everything.

Ergonomics

Diggs includes an internal backrest that does two jobs. It provides lumbar support, and it shortens the effective seat depth so the user sits upright rather than reclining back into the shell. This matters more than it sounds — a booth that encourages slouching gets used for ten minutes and abandoned. Combined with the rotating worksurface, the seated position is genuinely workable for a focused hour rather than a quick phone call.

The seat uses an elasticated sprung base with moulded CMHR foam. The screens use Vitafoam Reflax.
